Programs and Initiatives

Public Improvements
Utilizing a variety of local, state, and federal funds, the Authority annually administers projects which:

  • Extend or replace waterlines
  • Improve sanitary sewer systems
  • Reconstruct roadways and improve drainage
  • Expand and enhance recreational facilities
  • Improve county public facilities and remove blighted structures

Housing Programs

  • The Homeowner Rehabilitation Program assists homeowners through the provision of no interest rehabilitation loans.
  • The Homebuyer Development Program provides assistance to low- and moderate-income families purchasing single-family homes throughout Fayette County.  Assistance through this program may be provided in the form of: homeownership counseling, down-payment and closing cost assistance and gap-financing.
  • The Lead Hazard Control Program assists families with the removal of lead-based paint hazards from their homes through a grant.

Fayette County Business Park
Located on 270 acres just outside the City of Uniontown in North and South Union Townships, the Fayette County Business Park is home to a variety of professional office complexes, retail establishments, and restaurants. Approximately two-thirds of the available land has been developed, and the Redevelopment Authority is in the process of planning the development of the remaining portions of the Business Park.

Fair Housing Initiative
The Redevelopment Authorities of the County of Fayette and the Cities of Connellsville and Uniontown have partnered with the Fayette County Housing Consortium to promote and provide educational resources associated with the Fair Housing Act to prevent housing discrimination in Fayette County and surrounding areas. >> READ MORE

Special Projects & Initiatives
Serving as the principal community development agency in the County, the Redevelopment Authority routinely becomes involved in special projects and initiatives designed to help improve Fayette County.
